MP urges local residents to have their say on pylon route before end of consultation
Following the conclusion of a second non-statutory consultation in August 2023, National Grid’s statutory consultation on their proposals for the Norwich to Tilbury route is ongoing. The consultation will run for 10 weeks, closing at midnight on Tuesday 18 June 2024. John Baron MP has today urged constituents to engage with the consultation.
National Grid are organising a number of Webinars for local residents to see the new proposals.
John said:
“It is important for residents to engage with the consultation process to ensure that their views are heard. Having met again recently with National Grid, I understand they are keen to work with residents to minimise the impact of this new infrastructure as much as possible. I would encourage constituents to attend the webinar on Thursday 6th June [6-7pm] to hear more about the section affecting our area.”
Liam Walker, Project Director for Norwich to Tilbury at National Grid, said:
“Statutory consultation is an important milestone for Norwich to Tilbury and we want to hear what people think about our updated proposals to connect vital sources of low carbon offshore wind power to the grid. There’s a range of ways to take part, including a series of webinars you can sign up to on our website. Consultation closes on Tuesday 18 June, so visit our website to find out more and have your say.”
