MP: This is welcome news after tough years
At Prime Minister’s Questions today, John Baron MP asked,
“Good ways to help people with the cost of living are cutting their taxes, keeping unemployment low and getting inflation down – things the Government is doing. What is the Prime Minister’s assessment of how today’s very welcome reduction in inflation will help both families and businesses with the costs they face?”
The Prime Minister agreed with John, responded that there is much more to do, but the Government’s plan is working and the average worker has seen £900 of tax cuts.
John said afterwards,
“Government actions are contributing to a decrease in the cost of living, which has been high for families and businesses since the pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. These have been tough years, so this is all welcome news. Meanwhile employment remains near record highs, the economy is growing and unemployment is well below the EU average.”
