MP: Integrity and compassion must be at the heart of Government

Following the resignation of Boris Johnson as Party Leader, John said:

“Recent events have shown that integrity and compassion have been a lower priority than they should have been within our political system. These principles are paramount for the proper functioning of Government. I am being encouraged by my local team and others to put my name forward and this I am now considering. I would be a newcomer to the contest and do not yet have the required eight signatures but will take soundings over the weekend.”

“We need a fresh start. Whatever my decision, I do believe there is a wealth of experience and talent on the back benches and I hope this comes together in support of solid candidates in order to give the membership the widest and best possible choice.”
